PALMYRA, Wis. (October 16, 2015)—Standard Process Inc. supports practitioners who continue to grow their practice by expanding their skills and increasing their holistic knowledge. Since 2013, the company has provided a $2,500 scholarship to doctoral students at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, Oregon. This year’s OCOM student winner is Dixie Leigh Young Small.
As the practice of acupuncture continues to grow in the U.S., Standard Process is dedicated to supporting the future of acupuncture and its professionals. The company supports acupuncture schools across the U.S. by providing student scholarships.
For Small, earning the scholarship from Standard Process is a reminder for her that it is necessary to provide her patients with more tools to help them live a healthier lifestyle.
“The process of writing this essay allowed me to take a deeper look at Standard Process' long history of dietary therapy with the use of supplements, as well as the way in which I communicate the options available to my patients for improving the basic building blocks of their body,” said Small.
A practicing acupuncturist, Small earned a master’s degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine from OCOM in 2008. She joined the doctorate program at OCOM in September 2015.
